Apple has announced iPad Air 2, the thinnest iPad ever. 6.1 mm thin and weighing less than a pound, iPad Air 2 features an improved Retina display with anti-reflective coating and is available in gold, silver and space gray. The new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 offer Touch ID so users can unlock their iPad with just the touch of a finger and make purchases within apps using Apple Pay.
Apple today announced iPad Air, featuring a 9.7-inch Retina display in a thinner and lighter design and weighing just one pound. Apple also announced a new iPad mini with Retina display, bringing all the pixels from the 9.7-inch iPad to its 7.9-inch screen. Both new iPad models feature Apple-designed A7 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, built-in Wi-Fi and expanded LTE cellular connectivity, and iOS 7.
Apple has unveiled new iPad mini that features the same number of pixels as the original iPad with support of additional LTE bands for markets across the world. All the apps that are designed specifically for iPad will also work on iPad mini. iPad mini comes in a new aluminum and glass design and features dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi support for speeds up to 150 Mbps, which is twice the Wi-Fi performance compared to previous iPad models.
